Running Accomplishments:

I have been apart of Lehi's Cross Country and Track teams for four years. I was a member of the varsity team when we took 3rd at the Utah 5A State Championship. In that race I took 28 with a time of 16:18. My PR was at NXR Southwest where I took 47th place with a 15:43. During my junior track season I ran the 800m, 1600m, and the 3200m. At the State Championships I ran the 800 leg of Lehi's Medley Relay and helped break the school record, we finished 6th with a time of 3:35.97. In my senior track season I qualified for state, and the Arcadia Invitational in the 3200m. I finished the season with a PR in the 1600m as a 4:24.8, and a 9:32.58 in the 3200m. I have also competed in the AF Canyon half marathon placing 7th with a time of 1:16:55.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would like to get my 5k time closer to 15:00 maybe even sub 15:00, and an 8k around 25:00.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would mostly like to keep on improving. I would like to run at least one marathon, and race a triathalon.

Personal:

I ran for Lehi High School. I was the distance team captain for the track team. I'm eighteen years old. Member of Team Pre, (follow us @team_pre on instagram.) Now I attened the University of Miami and run on their XC team.

Today we flew in to Tallahasse and ran the course as our workout. It seems like a nice course and I'm looking forward to running it. We finished up with some strides at the start line.

Today was the day of the race, first mile was right on pace around 5:00 second mile was when my calves started to tighten up and it went downhill from there, I havn't been feeling the greatest lately and it definitly showed in todays race, it felt like utter crap, I'm suprised I even managed to finish. Was barely able to do any kind of cool down because my legs were so tight... overall not the greatest day

Woke up early to do a long run today, got half a mile into it before my legs gave up, I decided to finish the rest on the water treadmill, made it 30 minutes before my leg completely tightened up decided to call it a day and try again tomorrow.

Todays workout was supposed to be a 6 mile tempo run at 5:40 pace, I tried to hold out as long as possible but after a mile my calf tightned to the point where I was having trouble walking, I have gotten a pair of compression calf sleeves which should help fix the problem, I also schedueled some time to work with the trainer to help fix the problem, hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Today I ended up doing 5 miles easy on dry land and 25 minutes on the water treadmill. I'm optimistic on my treatment for my calves and I will hopefully be back at full power soon.

I took it easy today, ran 2 miles on the grass, and finished up with 30 minutes on the water treadmill. My calf has been doing much better and I'm sure that it will be back to full strength fairly soon.

Was able to go on an easy distance run today, ran 2 miles on the grass, 3 miles on the street, and 6 strides on the soccer field. 6:55 mile average, my calf felt a lot better but I stopped because I could feel it starting to tighten up. After the strides I did 25 minutes on the water treadmill to work on my form.

Had an evening race at the University of Southern Florida today, I'm not the biggest fan of evening races because I still haven't figured out what the best thing for me to eat for lunch beofre a race is. Needless to say my stomach wasn't really feeling the race and the entire thing felt sluggish, throw in the fact that my calf started to feel like it was on fire after the second mile, and I've got a combo for a bad race. I fell off of the lead pack almost immediatly and found myself struggling to maintain a decent position. Shout out to the random guy in a pink headband that I raced with the entire time, definitly helped me out a lot. This was the last meet before the ACC championships so I've got two weeks to get back into fighting shape if I want to finish the season with a good race.

Woke up early with the team for a long run in Tampa today.  12 miles 7:18 average, I felt pretty good a majority of the run, my calf did start to cramp up a little after the second mile, but after runing another mile it went away. The rout we took lead us to a trail that went through a long clearing surrounded by tall trees, the fact that it was super dark and foggy made the entire run super creepy, we were all pretty sure there was an ax murderer following us, but we all made it out alive. It was a good day.

Steady state run today, we did a half mile warm up to a fairly straight road and started a 8 mile run with the goal to be between 5:45 and 6:05, I stayed with the team for 2 miles before my leg gave out and I had to turn back. After I got back I did another slow mile around the athletic fields.

2 mile warm-up followed by a 4 mile tempo run around the track, I made it a little less than 2 miles before I had to stop due to calf pain. Got some work done on them today and boy did that hurt... pretty sure the trainer enjoys causing pain...

Speed workout today 4x4x400m on the grass field with the 4th of each set being a "hammer" aka faster then the rest. I made it through 2 sets before my calf started to slow me down. Coach then told me to stop.

Easy 7 mile distance run at 7:23 pace, I felt good during the run but after I finished my ankle started to hurt and the trainer said that it was the achilles and that it was related to my claf problems.

Today was ACC Championships and boy were they rough. I ran the first mile in 4:54 but was still in the very back whcih was rather discouraging. I ended up running by myself in the back which slowed me down a lot, I came through the 5k at 16:54, so not the greatest ever, After that though everything fell apart and my calves were on fire. I struggled through the final 2 miles and finished 4th from last... After the race I found out that the guy who won beat Ed Cheserek the week before so it was definitly a super fast race. I was pretty disapointed in how I did but its just motivation to train harder for next year and stay with the main group.
